5’th International Conference on Health Practise and Research
Vol. 5 (2023)The 5th International Conference Of Health Research (ICHPR) is an annual conference event held by STIKES Telogorejo Semarang. This activity facilitates researchers to publish their research results. The theme taken in this event is Inter-Professional Collaboration in Preventing, Promoting And Curing in Order to Improve Life Quality of Child With Stunting. Stunting is an important issue to resolve because the level of stunting in Indonesia will determine the competitiveness of human resources in the future. Stunting can hamper economic growth, increase poverty, and widen inequality. In the end, if stunting is left unchecked, Indonesia has the potential to fall behind in various fields of development from countries around the world.
Until now, stunting is still a hot topic of discussion in the global health sector, including Indonesia. Indonesia is one of the countries with a high prevalence of stunting compared to other middle-income countries. Within Southeast Asian countries, the prevalence of stunting is Myanmar at 35%, Vietnam at 23%, Malaysia at 17%, Thailand at 16%, Singapore at 4% and Indonesia at 24% (December 2021). The prevalence rate has indeed decreased from the previous year, which was 26.9% in 2020. Meanwhile, the World Health Organisation (WHO) sets a country's stunting tolerance limit at 20 per cent. Therefore, the issue above encourages the existence of an international conference with the theme of INTER-PROFESSIONAL COLLABORATION IN PREVENTING, PROMOTING AND CURING IN ORDER TO IMPROVE LIFE QUALITY OF CHILD WITH STUNTING.
