Major burden for individual pts and societies - health care costs and organization. Strongly related to age and in view of the worldwide aging populations- older pts with CVD is increasing rapidly. Particular challenge for cardiac rehabilitation (CR) of older pts, hospitalized for CVD. Often accompanied by other age-related problems that could interfere with rehabilitation.
