The Effect of Peer Support Group Education Method With Booklet Toward The Self-Medication Knowledge of Group Pretest-Posttest Design On Family Welfare Movement Practitioners In Bumiayu Village Pati Regency

Peer support group education method is an effort to change health behavior through peer groups by emphasizing interaction within the group. Education the peer support group method, especially the problem of self-medication in studies previously proven effective for peer educators in conveying information directly and precisely. Self-medication is the use of drugs with intent therapy without professional advice or without a prescription. Self-medication includes rules of use, types of drugs, how to obtain, store and dispose of drugs. Knowledge level The community regarding self-medication varies, so efforts need to be made one way to increase knowledge is using the peer support group method booklet. The aim of the study was to determine the educational effect of the peer support group method using booklets on self-medication knowledge. Research respondents is a PKK cadre in Bumiayu Village, Pati Regency. Data collection was carried out by gathering respondents, giving pretests, self-medication counseling, giving booklets, and posttest. Type of quasi-experimental research with design one group pretest-posttest group design. The results obtained pretest cognitive aspects average score 13.64, psychomotor aspects 15.72. Posttest results obtained pretest aspects cognitive average score 15.12, psychomotor aspects 16.56. Paired t test different aspects Cognitive pretest and posttest obtained p <0.05 so that means there is a difference meaning. The pretest and posttest Wilcoxon psychomotor aspect test obtained p>0.05 means that there is no significant difference. It was concluded that peer support group education method using booklets has an influence on self-medication knowledge in PKK cadres in Bumiayu Village, Pati Regency.
