The implementation of postpartum KB MKJP using MKJP is very important but the use of postpartum KB MKJP using MKJP KB MKJP is still low, this is due to a lack of knowledge so there is a need for KIE. Objective: to determine the effectiveness of KIE using audiovisual and conventional ABPK methods on knowledge and decision making on the use of MKJP KB MKJP. Method: Quasy Experimental with a "Pretest-Posttest, Control Group Design" design, the sample size was 32 respondents selected using consecutive sampling. The measuring tool uses a questionnaire. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney tests. Results: in the audiovisual group, pre-knowledge was mostly poor (62.5%) and post-knowledge was good (93.8%), all pre-decision making did not decide to use MKJP KB (100) and post 87.5% were willing to use MKJP KB. In the ABPK group, pre-knowledge was mostly lacking (68.8%) and post-pre-decision making was sufficient (62.5%), pre-decision making was entirely undecided about using MKJP KB (100%) and post 62.5% were willing to use MKJP KB. There are differences in knowledge (p value 0.000) and decision making (p value 0.000) before and after audiovisual KIE. There are differences in knowledge (p value 0.000) and decision making (p value 0.002) before and after KIE with ABPK. KIE with the audiovisual method is more effective than conventional ABPK KIE on knowledge (0.006) and decision making (0.039) on the use of MKJP KB MKJP at the Tering Seberang Health Center, West Kutai. The conclusion is that using KIE with audiovisual is more effective because it has a greater influence on increasing knowledge and decision making compared to KIE with ABPK.
